According to a 2007-2008 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, approximately 17% of American children and young people are overweight. Did food industry marketing try to do something with this problem researchers found that cereal, the packaged food, most frequently marketed to children and the cereals for children were unhealthier than those sold to adults. The food companies promise to avoid from advertising in elementary school to reduce their unreal characters in advertising. In addition, McDonald’s and Burger King have continued to advertise their Happy Meals and Kids Meals (high calories content) by including apples and low fat milk. Although the study conducted by the Center for Science it reported that 59% of the approve products did not meet a set of standards developed by nutrition and health experts, and characterized 59% of the products as being “of poor nutritional quality.”

I just read this article about children and food marketing. Even though I believe that a good marketing is very necessary to be able to sale goods or services well, there are lots of companies exaggerated their products. Children who are easy to be naïve are in danger. Companies promise to reduce their unreal characters but from the credible research their product still not meet the stantdands The producer should take more responsibilities about this. Not only you can sale your products but also consumer should get real benefit as you promote on each packaging.
