Korean Online Games: No Longer Child’s Play

I choose this article because today games online businesses are very widespread and popular in many counties and definitely in Korea. Children are the biggest consumers of these businesses, but I do not think this is a good news at all. This is going to be a very big problem ,if we just ignore this problem what would happen to our future adults?? Well, Instead of studying and exercising children seem to spent most of their times on playing computer game such as online games. I noticed that some children do not sleep and eat to stay up all night play their online game and save their money for pay their internet costs.

Children cannot play online games now because the direct sale totaling is almost 1.8 trillion won in 2006. These games are expected to continue to evolve and contribute a great deal to the Korean domestic and export economies, but will also face growing threats to their continued success. Online games are connecting the players together. Online games are first entered Korea in the 1990s but they were all form foreign. At this time, homegrown Korea games are starting to replace many of the foreign imports. There were many successful product s for example NC Soft’s Lineage. New technological changes allow for improvements in graphics, usability and realism. These huge changes allow companies to increase the number of players. From the survey that Korean government conducted, there were about 13 per cent of female player and 13 per cent of adult older than 39 as an active player but in the 1990s the average gamers were young men. Within a decade, Korea has gone from a net importer to a net exporter. Exports have risen $672 million in 2006. Overall industry growth is estimated as likely to reach a 19.1 percent annual growth rate until 2009. Currently, primary export destinations include the United States, Japan and Taiwan. Even though Korea stays at the top position in the world online game manufactory, it is not the gladsome things. Many children were additive to online games.

In my opinion, I think children should not play online game because I think they will be addictive to it. They will lose their study, money, and even their health. I think it is very important that parents to teach their children to arrange their times carefully such as when to study, when to play, and when to do some exercises. To sum up, internet has a lot of advantages and it has a terrible disadvantages as well.It not going to be fun if some members of your famlily are addictive to online games and have no free time to spent with her/her friends and family
