Catherine Ehrenberger and Robin Dykhouse, said that Amway choose Korea as the first country for the ambitious project in deliberation of the country's powerful scientific communities and respect of intellectual property rights. "Presently, we are checking on the possibility of commercialization with some Korea technologies for example, skin improvement technology, weight management technologies, woman's health relating technology and stem cell platform technology for health functional food, cosmetic and skin devices," they said. We are targeting more than two products in three years and we expect $60 millions per year at the maximum. The two seniors officials accurately known that Korea is ample in leading-edge technologies thanks for the increase of venture start-ups under the previous Kim Dae-jung administration. "It is a big business at the end of 1990s in Korea and many technologies have been improved from that time. Essentially, they are nearly complete now, " they said. However, the present Korea market is not enough to respond the customers. For this reason, many small R&D companies have been bankrupted even though they have a great qualities. The Open Innovation Project is a big point for U.S. companies in Asia's forth biggest economy as Amy Jackson, the president of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) in Korea. "The MOU signing is a strong combination between Amway and government Amway investment in Korea support as an excellent model of cooperation and success between foreign invested companies and Korean companies," he said. After I read this news, I appreciate that Korea made a lot of progress in last few years. Not only Korea improves at high-technology but also entertainment, policy, and transportation. To sum up, Korea are good at foods and health products which there government loves to support this. Unlike some contries make too much effort on transportation. Korea now can be the good role model for other countries. This news make me know that every countries pay attention about this progress. korea is a good example country that every devoloping country should learn and follow their good steps.
